I moved from the east coast years ago and this is one of those smells that you’d think you’d forget after some time gone. I lit this the night I got it and was immediately thrown back to the rain storms we had. Pair it with a sound machine of some rain and you’ve got yourself a cozy night in. I have no idea how you captured this smell so perfectly but i can safely say it will be in my regular rotation for as long as you keep making it.
This is the 2nd Petrichor candle I’ve purchased. It’s wonderful & really does have the essence of rain.
This candle smells like dirt. Wet dirt, with some mossy bits and maybe some works. Almost certainly there are mushrooms nearby. I wanted dirt, I got dirt.
Smell is great and just the right strength and it burns well. It smells like it should cost 3 times as much, but instead it’s sliding scale. Will buy from here again.

I wanted to reach out to let you know that there is in fact an aroma compound called "Matsutake Alcohol" (aka Mushroom Alcohol) that does give a bit of an earthy/mushroomy smell to the candle, so you were spot on with that description! :D

This brings me right back to my childhood going for hikes early in the morning after a light rain with my uncle.
I absolutely love the scent!! While the candle is strong, the scent is not overpowering at all!
