The smell of hay brings me back to my childhood in Massachusetts. As a kid, I was lucky enough to grow up across the street from a state park that had a large hay field. Each summer, when the hay was collected and turned into bales, my best friend and I would visit the park and climb on top of them. We'd look out across the field as the warm summer breeze cooled us off from the scorching heat. This candle blends the nutty and woody aromas of hay, with a sweet grassy undertone.

Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each burn.
Your candle arrives with the wick trimmed to 1/4 inch. A long wick makes more soot.
Let wax melt to the edge of the glass on the first burn.
A part-melted pool leaves a tunnel in the wax. A tunnel cuts the burn time of your candle. The first burn takes 3 to 4 hours.
Burn the candle for no more than 4 hours at a time.
A longer burn makes the glass too hot to touch. It also reduces the total burn time.
Caution. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep away from children, pets, and drafts.
Sweet, earthy, strong, but not too strong. Our house smells amazing! I also got the Creosote (iykyk) and Rain on Pavement (it smells wxactly like rain on warm pavement). I highly recommend these candles.

I discovered this candle while I was visiting my sister and it immediately reminded me of summer trips we used to make in the North of Michigan as kids. A beautiful candle that evokes quiet Midwest nostalgia. I am so impressed by the way that Alex has worked to make this as accessible as possible for so many people. I will be returning to buy more candles in the future. I also highly recommend the scent sampler kit if you're unsure!
