Candles That Smell Like Rain

The smell of rain is different depending on which region of the United States you live in.

Petrichor is inspired by the smell of rain in New England, where I grew up. It's very earthy with notes of wet dirt, summer ozone, and ferns.

Creosote offers a less earthy fragrance found in the Southwest deserts of the United States. Inspired by the creosote bush, Larrea tridentata, it balances the leathery notes of the plant with orange peel.

Rain on Pavement is inspired by the wet streets of New York City, where I live now. It has top notes of wet concrete that you'll smell first, but as the candle burns it settles into an earthier, softer smell that lingers in the room.

Finally, Ozone comes from the smell of an approaching thunderstorm. I wanted to capture that hot metallic smell in the air when you can see the dark clouds on the horizon, and feel the rain about to fall.
