What wax do you use for candles and wax melts?

The candles use a combination of coconut and soy wax, while the wax melts are made using 100% soy wax. The wax is supplied by AAK, an environmentally conscious company that has a deforestation-free supply chain.

How long does each candle burn?

Every candle burns on average 40-50 hours.

Do you offer any other sized candles?

Currently, I only offer a 9oz candle. If you'd prefer a smaller size, I also sell 4oz wax melts that are about a third of the cost (but require an existing wax warmer to use).

What is the Free Sample Kit?

The free sample kit includes a collection of fragrances sprayed onto thick cardstock and sealed in plastic-free packaging. It gives you the opportunity to smell all of the scents I offer without having to buy anything first. It comes with free shipping, and does not require any payment information.

Are your products safe for pets?

While I do my best to make sure every candle uses ingredients that are non-toxic to humans, I am neither a veterinarian nor a pet owner. Therefore, I typically advise people to discuss pet safety with a professional. I am happy to provide a list of materials and ingredients should you need them!

Do you offer custom messages?

Yes! Please feel free to reach out directly if you'd like me to include a custom message in your order.

Shipping
How long does shipping take?

I do my best to ship out orders as quickly as possible. Typically, orders are processed within 1-3 business days, and will take anywhere from 2-5 business days to be delivered, depending on your distance from New York City. Free sample kits are shipped using USPS First Class mail, and should arrive as a letter in your mailbox in 7-10 days at most.

What does split shipping cost mean?

Split shipping means your shipping cost is automatically calculated based on your items' weight and your distance from New York City. That price is then split in two: I pay one half, and you pay the other half. The burden of paying for the shipping cost is divided equally between us.

Do you ship internationally?

Unfortunately, due to higher-than-normal shipping rates and duties, I don't offer international shipping at this time. I'd be happy to provide a shipping quote if you are still interested, but please note that the costs may exceed $40.00 USD even for just a single candle.

How do I track my order?

Your shipping confirmation email should include a tracking link to check your order status. If you can't find the email, or have lost your tracking number, you can use the tracking form on our Contact page to look up your package using your email, order number, or zip code.

What shipping carrier do you use?

Packages are shipped using either USPS or UPS, depending on price and estimated arrival dates.

My package shows delivered but I didn't receive it

Feel free to reach out and I'd be happy to send you a replacement or provide a full refund.

Returns & Exchanges
What is your return policy?

You are welcome to return or exchange anything from your order at anytime. Just reach out, I'm more than happy to help.

My candle arrived damaged — what do I do?

Just reach out! I'd be happy to replace it for you. Shipping insurance is the seller's responsibility, so I'll handle any claims with the carrier.

Can I exchange for a different scent?

Of course! If you don't yet have a free sample kit, I will probably send it to you first so you can try all the scents I offer and find the one that's right for you. And if you can't find one that you like, I'm happy to offer a refund instead.

How do I request a refund?

What if I don't like the scent?

That's okay! Reach out anytime if you don't like something. I'm happy to exchange or refund your order at no cost.

Do I need to return the product?

Yes, most returns and exchanges require returning the original product. I can walk you through all of the steps needed and provide you with prepaid return shipping labels.

What is Pay What You Can?

This business model allows me to develop products that are inclusive of more people. The reality is, we live in a tough economy - but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be able to treat ourselves and enjoy luxury. This pricing structure allows you to select a price that best fits your budget right now. You will receive the same product regardless of the price you pay.

What is the suggested retail price?

The retail price for candles is $28, and for wax melts it is $9. These prices reflect a roughly 2x markup over their production costs.

Why do you show your cost breakdown?

I believe transparency in business builds trust. Documenting and publishing my product costs allows you to better understand exactly what you are purchasing and why I've chosen to price it the way I have. My sliding scale business model allows me to operate my business within a healthy margin, without the need to exploit customers for maximum profit.

Have you ever raised your prices?

No. Since I began my business in 2023, the retail price has remained the same, $28. The sliding scale has also remained unchanged at $18-$33.

What's stopping me from paying the lowest price on the sliding-scale?

Nothing. This business model is meant to be inclusive and accessible for those who need it. You know yourself and your finances best, and I'm not here to police anyone's conscience.

Are you a nonprofit?

No. While I offer a business model that is community-minded, it is still a for-profit company.
